GORDON LENNOX
Born in Cork and reared in Dundrum, following his parents'
move to Dublin, Gordon honed his skills with the gavel
under the late Denis Mahony in the early 1970s; when a
week's work could take in Tattersalls' bloodstock sales,
house contents clearance, or a landmark event such as
the Malahide Castle sale - as well as normal auction room
rostrum work. Qualifying I.A.V.I. in 1974, joined Jackson-Stops
in 1975 in charge of new homes, becoming an Associate
in 1978 before spearheading branch expansion on opening
in Bray in 1979.
Quickly regarded as market leaders in their area, having
built a reputation for independent advice with integrity,
Gordon and his team moved the company forward to the next
step of its development as a family firm when he and his
co-director wife Erna acquired his partners' shares in
the early 1990s.
Trading for 25 years under the Jackson-Stops banner, it
was decided to rebrand and establish Lennox Estates by
the close of 2004; and use the team's contacts, experience
and expertise to concentrate on what they do best - providing
personalised service, right across the spectrum of professional
property services, to clients at home and abroad. A motor
enthusiast; over the years Gordon competed in autocross,
sporting trials, hill climbing, sprints and a little circuit-racing,
and has owned various classic cars - continuing to sponsor
the Leinster Veteran and Vintage Rally.
Art and jazz are other interests outside the family, and
the firm was one of the founder-sponsors of Bray Jazz
Festival which began as a Millennium project but now is
an annual feature. Gordon was elected a Fellow of the
Irish Auctioneers & Valuers Institute in 1998 and
personally oversees the provision of professional services
to private and corporate clients; while conducting auctions
and planning marketing strategy both for re-sale residential
and for new homes.

ERNA LENNOX
A native of Sandymount, Erna's family moved to Glenageary
and then Bray. Starting in financial services, Erna then
carved out a successful and rewarding nursing career working
at home, Australia, and the U.K. before returning to Ireland
in 1980. Taking a sabbatical to be with her young family,
Erna returned part-time to the medical field before joining
the firm; becoming an equity director in the early 1990s.
Her interests take in family, art and travel.

JOHN MAGEE
John's family who are natives of Greystones for nearly
100 years but for generations have worked in Bray (where
his great grand father and father practised as solicitors

of the Special Criminal Court. Trained with Neville's
in Sandycove, John joined our team in 1981, making a valuable
contribution to the firm's early growth before leaving
in 1988 to manage the Dun Laoghaire office of one of our
competitors.
Establishing Magee Estates in Greystones in 1990/1991,
he successfully merged the agency with Ross McParlands'
new Bray operation in 1993/4, where he was responsible
for the re-sale (pre-owned) Residential Homes division.
Following Sherry Fitzgerald's acquisition of Ross McParland,
we were delighted to strengthen our team when John joined
us as Senior Property Consultant in 1999/2000. John is
an experienced senior I.A.V.I. professional and combines
the demands of his career with his major love and leisure
interest - music.
A baritone voice finds John a key bass singer with the
Palestrina Choir, which regularly provides the choral
background for Sunday Eucharist in Dublin's Pro Cathedral.

and in America with the Choir, and with the Lassus Scholars;
appearing in Carnegie Hall, even backing Westlife. His
consummate professionalism; calm, considered judgement;

WALTER SWEETMAN
Walter lives in Dun Laoghaire, and is a member of one
of Dublin's "legal" families; for example his
sister Angela (McCann) is a successful Dun Laoghaire solicitor,
while his brother John is a well-known barrister.
Qualified I.A.V.I. in the early 1960s, Walter has worked
with some of the legendary figures around whom today's
modern property services profession has taken shape -
in Sherry's when the late Anthony M. Sherry held sway;
later heading up the Residential division of Donal O'Buachalla
& Co., where he also gained valuable experience in
commercial valuation work, C.P.O.'s, rent reviews and
portfolio appraisals.
Like Gordon Lennox, his early sporting interests included
motorsport, when his (always immaculate) Mini-Cooper "S"
was a regular on the Autocross circuit. Gentler pursuits
like sailing and fishing have since taken over; and in
his approach to drawn-out negotiations, Walter displays
all the patience and dogged yet polite determination of
the keen angler.
With years of experience, Walter's are a safe pair of
hands; and his advice is always well-considered while
also taking into account his clients' aspirations. Having
two young adult sons, Walter is aware of the pressures
facing a new generation of young first-time buyers; and
is ever-courteous, even in today's often frenetic business
environment. As well as transacting residential sales,
Walter works closely with Gordon Lennox on commercial
portfolios, backing-up and often initiating various professional
services.

to clients and enquirers alike; and his previous experience
has equipped him well for the logistics of arranging Saturday
viewing itineraries.
Like Walter, David's young adult sons and daughter have
experienced the merry-go-round of first-time house hunting
so he knows the score - generally with a word to the wise
